Immigration, Nebraska, and the Future Panel Series

STATE AND LOCAL WELCOMING POLICY: Policies for successful community integration

This second panel will consider state and local policy strategies for most effectively welcoming and integrating newcomers in our communities. While the federal government has authority over the laws that determine who can enter the United States, some of the most meaningful choices about how to integrate people when they get here fall to local governments and communities. What is the need for local action? What is being tried around the country and locally? Where do we go from here?
